I think it might be a little overrated this year, but probably not much.
Overrated or not, I will always watch the Big 12. I am a Texas native, so I'm right in the heart of it. UT is my second favorite team (right after TCU, of course), and I keep up with OU, OSU, Tech, A&M, Nebraska, Kansas, Mizzou and K State a bit as well.
I certainly don't think it's the best conference (that honor still goes to the SEC in my mind right now, with the Big Eleven, the ACC and the Big 12 about even), but I sure as hell enjoy watching it.

Finally another Texan ;D Did you by any chance watch U of H get killed by OU. Ah..that was funny. Saw Houston get beat by Rice over at Reliant last weekend, that was also entertaining. BIG 12 is overrated, but not as much as the Pathetic 10.

I dont think they are overrated, the reason being is that no one is rating them very high. Everyone is saying that the ACC, SEC and Big 10 are better than the big 12 and thats where they should be.

When Kansas is arguably either the best or 2nd best in the Big 12 North, I think its safe to say that they are overated.

No way is Kansas best or second best in Big 12 North. We dont really know how good they will be till they play a team that is even average.

The BIG 12 is at times overrated. However this year it is simply the BIG 12 North that is overrated.

You forgot Texas. They are always overrated. I disagree. I think they have simply not played up to their ability in the last few years. They have the talent, and i think Brown is a good coach, but for some reason or another they don't make it over the top. Though i think they will this year.

So underachieving doesn't mean overrated? Rating them at a level they don't play? I would like to see them play up to their level, but until they do, I consider them overrated (ranked in the top 10).

I think its not so much as question as the Big 12 being overated as it is that the Mid Major conference have gotten alot better in teh last 5 years.

The Mid-Majors have definely improved in last 5 years. It used to be that most mid-majors were easy wins but that is definely not true anymore. There is a lot more parity in college football today than it used to be.
