Well for the starting job I bet Francis will get it but Cassell deserves a reserve spot there is no question, he actually is playing the best out of any point in the west right now but the fans just dont realize it and thats why he wont start because he isnt getting enough votes.

Your kidding right about Francis playing the best basketball in his career right? I hope so because this is by far his worst season of his career. He is averaging career lows in scoring, assists, shooting, three point shooting, free throws, and then also his steals, rebounds and blocks are all just about career lows. Cassell is playing the best basketball as a point guard in the west and there isnt much anyone can argue with that, period.

I don't care about his numbers, Van Gundy has him playing real basketball...He's playing great defense and not running around picking up stats...He's playing under more control this year. His assists are up from last year and now that he is playing controlled isn't putting up huge stats...And I recently heard Steve in an interview say he thinks this is his best season so far. So what if Cassell is playing well in the "west"....Did you see Cassell four years ago in Milwaukee?? The only theats at PG in the West are Payton/Francis compared to the east's Baron/Kidd/Marbury and plenty of good guards.

That just brought up another point. A lot of people say KG cant make players better and Tim Duncan is the best at doing it, that is not true, not at all. Just look at Cassell's recent seasons compared to this one. His numbers are way up and more importantly he is playing a lot better defense, most of this has to do with KG. KG makes everyone around him better and it just bugs the hell out of me when people say he cant make anyone better because he hasnt led a team to anything. Well that is because he hasnt had any supporting cast it would be impossible for anyone to lead his past roster's to anything in the playoffs. But back to Francis, I have watched Francis a lot this year and his defense has not been as good as in years past, he seems to be complaining too much also because he doesnt exactly like Van Gundy's new system. But he definetly is not playing the best year of his career, comparing him to recent years he was a lot more better all around basketball player then he is now and that is true because I follow the Rockets and so I know his production level and this year it is down.

Dude, you put Ray Allen, and he is a good player and doing good so far, but he has been hurt for alot of this year. Don't you think someone that has been having a good year, that has been here all year should make the team. Like, Brad Miller, or Rashard Lewis, or someone like that.

Brad Miller should be the backup center but there are so many good PF's it would be hard for him. I agree about Allen but he's going in because he has been so good for so long. Which can be frustrating.

The All-Star game is a joke already, but when you take into account that (no matter what) Pierce will not be starting and PERHAPS NOT EVEN MAKE IT to LA this year it is all just nuts. Pierce is an MVP canidate, yet he may not even make the All-Star game.. Whata' joke.

I'm sorry, but no, it isn't a lock. VC, Lebron will already be going. Then the coaches will probably pick AI and T-Mac, Pierce could very well be left at home.. Know your stuff.
How is he not an MVP canidate? 24/7/6/1.5 is pretty damned good, he is also keeping his team in the playoff race.

Vince, TMac, AI have played in many ASG's together, but the only thing is that Ray Allen is gone so sub him in with LeBron and you can slide Pierce in there and basicly you have the same East team of the past years

Paul Pierce will never be an MVP with Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan. In the east do you think voters care if there "fighting" for a playoff spot?
