fox news is charged with being faithly conservative, yet cnn talk show hosts paul begala and james carville sign on to the kerry campaign AND ARE STILL ON THE CNN PAYROLL, and no one seems to care, imagine the outrage if sean hannity and bill oreilly joined the bush campaign in the liberal press?

Seeing as they might as well be, what's the difference?

It's another loss for the electorate as there are signs that Bush will not do the second debate (town hall meeting) in the swing state of Missouri on Washington University's campus.

It's sad when a candidate doesn't want to debate. I'm surprised Bush hasn't tried to cut it to one by now. I don't think Kerry will win the election, but a real debate with actual citizens asking questions would be nice to see, instead of the softballs being lobbed by the media. Bush has hidden in plain sight behind his spin doctors for too long. IMO.

Doing well, thanks. Sent you an IM. Do you think Bush has been available to the press and citizens? He's had fewer press conferences than any Presdent in modern times, carefully picks who he will call on in those press conferences, and has anyone who asks him tough questions moved to the back of the press room. His second press conference in office, he moved Helen Thomas, the senoir correspondent in the White house, moved. She jumps all over Presidents, Left or Right. I just think it's healthy when we have real debate and a real press that asks intelligent questions, and I don't think we have that anymore.

Good points, Word. Now if you could just root for the correct team of Blue.... Kansas is my second favorite team that wears blue. Duke 3rd, then UNC. Oh. Gonzaga wears blue, don't they? I like them too, they're scrappy. Nothing against Kansas, Have fun with that monkey on your back this year.

word said,"She jumps all over Presidents, Left or Right. I just think it's healthy when we have real debate and a real press that asks intelligent questions, and I don't think we have that anymore. "
word, I can't personally stand the woman and would probably have her removed. She used to ask the most irrelavent questions, even when Clinton was president, and I hated it when she was acknowledged. I don't think you can point your finger at Pres. Bush for dodging the tough questions because Senator Kerry jumps around the tough questions so what is the difference. That brings up another question. Why are the two Johns still in the senate???

I voted for Bush in '00 and I still haven't made up my mind. He's conservative and all, but not fiscally. IMO, he isn't that far away from being a democrat in that regard. He's just as eager to spend my tax dollars as the rest of them!!! I know 9/11 happened and all but that was three years ago and there are other things wrong with the US besides the War on Terror! Did anyone watch Scarbourough's show last night. 7.3 TRILLION dollars of debt!!!!!! They ran the debt clock, and it was amazing how fast it goes up. I think the five minutes I watched, it went up almost 25K!! In a country as prosperous as ours, we should be ashamed with that!!! This will only get worse as baby boomers retire and start to collect SS.

7.3 TRILLION dollars of debt!!!!!! Txheel, I read an article where that has been adjusted down to 5.2 trillion. Now don't you feel better. Let me help you a little with your decision. I don't agree with President Bush on everything, but I agree with him on a lot more issues than I do Kerry. I think you have to look at it issue by issue. Next come truthfulness. From their past actions on issues, which one is most truthful and sticks to his guns. Then make up your mind and vote. Either way, vote.

If we remove all people that irritate us, then we really are in trouble. The right of the free press is paramount to a functioning society. I think the press has become an entertainment arm, and a not very independent one at that. FOX, ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS, all fall far short of reporting things that matter. It has become all attack, all the time. txheel brings up points, and good ones, about meaty matters. How are we going to continue to spend like we have and still give tax breaks skewed to the wealthy? Government, as flawed as it is, is just all of us agreeing to do things that private enterprise won't or can't do. Schools, roads, national defense, laws that protect robber barons from plowing under everything for the sake of a buck. The GOP and the Dems have oth really let us all down lately, in my view. If we don't all pay more attention, and have irritating people asking hard questions, we just end up with our head up our behinds, and being controlled by those dishonest enough to manipulate the system. Both sides would be terrified if we had a 90% voter turnout average, instead of the poor showing we do now.
Enough ranting for one day.
