Was looking into residencies at UT-Galveston. Then I though, what's worse than tornadoes? Tornadoes AND hurricanes. Spectacular.

Was looking into residencies at UT-Galveston. Then I though, what's worse than tornadoes? Tornadoes AND hurricanes. Spectacular. We have been lucky in recent years, and have just been getting tropical storms (these I actually find kinda fun). Galveston is a great place, and they have a lot of new construction going on. Galveston also does not have as many tourists as some other places so it is easy to get around. I must say that Mardi Gras in galveston is also great, though nothing quite up to par with New Orleans. Galveston has a lot of great tourist attractions as well, Moody Gardens, the Sea Wall, of course the beach as well. Not to mention a large army surplus store!!!! All in all galveston is great. If you are thinking about it, I would recomend it.

The stuff in Houston is just the radioactive smog. Godbless Texas. The smog here actually is not as bad as people say it is. Damn EPA bastards take all of their little pollution readings right along the Houston Ship Channel near all the factories and refineries, then they say the entire city is horrible. Fortunatly I live in the suburbs on the SW side, so it isn't bad here..

Still. The air in Houston during hot summer days is not healthy. You breath the air from those factories.

The south has nasty air/chemical problems. Glad I left. But I guess the problems are everywhere because people in Iowa breath California air.

Cheesy is off celebrating the WNBA championship.
Tornadoes aren't incredibly common anywhere else in the world, but tornado alley gets 99% of the tornadoes. Kinda weird. Smog nowadays is better than it has been in 30 years. But it's funny, because the Smoky mountains have terrible visibilty 300 days a year. It's not pollution in the sense that it is toxic, but it is hard to see through.
