Pretty soon I'm going to start a legacy with the Creighton Jays of the Missouri Valley Conference. Since I have GameCube, I'll be playing on NCAA College Basketball 2K3, last year's game, with randomly generated player names. I'll simulate 2002-03 so that I get the same record that Creighton got in reality. I'm hoping to have one of the nicest dynasties on here. Look for it to start in a little under a week.

Well, I've changed my mind. I didn't want to start a legacy that I wouldn't stick with. So, I picked one of my favorite teams, the Cal Golden Bears. Also, I'm going to edit the rosters of everyone that I play so that the names will be the actual players' real names. Aside from those two things, I will do everything else the same way as I was going to if I played with Creighton.

Cal Finishes Non-conference Play 8-0 Western Ky. W 86-69 -– The closest the Hilltoppers cut the lead to in the second half was to nine. This game was an absolute blowout. Key Stat -– Turnovers, Cal – 7, Western Ky. – 21 Player of the Game -– Amit Tamir – 27 Pts, 12 Rebs, 2 Blks @ UNLV W 82-62 -– The score says it all. UNLV was out of it from the opening tip. Key Stat -– Field Goal Percentage, Cal – .544, UNLV – .397 Player of the Game -– A.J. Diggs – 28 Pts, 3 Asts, 3 Stls @ Brigham Young W 85-76 – BYU really fought hard in this game and stayed close all night. But, after some big Cal runs, the Cougars slowly faded. Key Stat -– Turnovers, Cal – 16, Brigham Young – 40 Player of the Game -– Amit Tamir – 11 Pts, 6 Rebs, 3 Blks @ Arkansas W 84-50 Another blowout win for the Cal Golden Bears. With this win they finish their non-conference schedule undefeated. Key Stat -– Turnovers, Cal – 16, Arkansas – 31 Player of the Game -– Amit Tamir – 21 Pts, 16 Rebs, 4 Asts Cal has gone unscathed through their non-conference schedule and has finished with a top ten rank. But now the real test is here, as they get ready for the Pac-10.

Cal Opens Pac-10 Hot, Gains Top 5 Rank Stanford W 79-55 -– The conference opener for the Bears was a back and forth game for pretty much the whole way. But, with about 5:00 left in the game, Cal went on a run that the Cardinal absolutely could not stop. Key Stat -– Points in the Paint, Cal – 62, Stanford – 40 Player of the Game -– Amit Tamir – 18 Pts, 13 Rebs, 2 Blks Oregon W 78-67 -– Even though the score doesn’t look so uneven, Oregon was never in this game. Once again, as it is a recurring theme, the Bears dominated. Key Stat -– Second Chance Points, Cal – 14, Oregon – 6 Player of the Game -– Amit Tamir – 25 Pts, 13 Rebs, 5 Blks Oregon State W 86-57 -– Well, tonight’s game was another tale of two halves. Oregon State kept it very close in the first half, but once again it all fell apart for a Cal opponent in the second. With Tamir in foul trouble, guard play was key in this game. Key Stat -– Fast Break Points, Cal – 16, Oregon State – 0 Player of the Game -– A.J. Diggs – 31 Pts, 4 Asts, 2 Stls The Golden Bears are really starting to dominate. The experts are starting to pick them as national title contenders. Nobody expected the Bears to be undefeated and ranked in the top 5 going into Week 10. Cal’s true identity will be revealed soon in upcoming matchups with ranked teams like Arizona (#9), UCLA (#16), and Washington (#24). The boys from Berkeley sure are looking good!

Sorry for the delay guys, but my grandfather passed away last week and the funeral was Monday and Tuesday and it has just been hard to find time to visit the boards. Don't worry though, I'll have an update up within the next day or two.
