If you look at his stats he only has a 4.86 era. Not exactly that great. So does he really make the Yanks better?

Yes for a couple reasons..the Yankees have better defense than the White Sox..when he gets balls put in play that should be outs..the Yankees will make them (even though unearned runs obviously dont go on ERA)..Loaiza has always pitched well on the Yankee Stadium mound..and he eats up innings..if he gave up 4 runs a night over 7 innings thats dependable, and good enough most nights considering the yankees can score enough to support that..Contreras was too inconsistent..plus Loaiza has the potential to be an ace..just look at last year when his confidence was sky high..Stottlemyre has the potential to make Loaiza very comfortable mechanically and mentally on the mound

I would say it is an improvement but I am still not conviced that the Yankees will have a strong enough rotation to make it all the way through the playoffs unless they get some of their starting rotation back from injury.

Loaiza is a one hit wonder he had the one great all-star year but hasn't done much since. He is an ok player but yankees are not better they could have gotten a lot more I think cause all he needed his a really really good coach to help him get control

He's better then Jose CantPitcheras Yep, since he is better than Jose, then he makes the team better. Jose could not pitch in clutch situations worth a damn.

Well if you try and can't get a good trade you don't just make the best trade there is if it doesn't help your team you don't make the trade

I don't think it really makes them better because Jose had some bad starts but some great ones. Loiza has had more all around games, but they have around same W/L and ERA. If you get ride of Jose pitching at Fenway he would be having a great season.

It is different to have a different win/loss record as a Yankee, and as a White Sock.
Conteras has had two quality starts for the White Sox, not that it really matters, just pointing out.
Loaiza is a mediocre pitcher. He will not help this team much, but a good solid pitcher would of.

Loiaza sucks. Last year was an abberation. This year is the norm. He shouldn't even be on the post-season roster.
It saddens me to say this, but I miss Jose.

I agree with Kenny. Loaiza blows! Contreres is pitching much better. He is effective against any team with the noteable exception of the Red Sux.

Newest rumor has the Yankees shipping Loiaza to Texas for a couple prospects. I hope they do, cause it'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Get back to the 5-man rotation, and just get rid of Loiaza.

Can Loaiza clear waivers? I doubt it...they must have revocable waivers. Yanks are gonna get swept by the Twins tonight! I love it!
