Paul Pierce is one of the league's top 10 players, he just never has the help to get them thru the playoff's. I remember when Ron Artest was getting burned by him and he scored like 18 points in the final 10 minutes of a game on him.

pierce isn't a top 10 player but iverson is. pierce can't dribble and he forgot how to shoot. he is the most overrated player in celtic history. iverson no contest.

Paul Pierce is not going to win the dribbling title like Iverson but he is the better player. Paul Pierce didn't forget how to shoot, the defense just triple teamed him. Their's no way a sharpshooter like Pierce just forgets how to shoot. The problem with Pierce is he has never had a player to help him, Antoine Walker, forget him. Right now he has ZERO help. Again defenses are going to collapse on him this season.
Iverson has never had awesome talent but he has have many good role players Pierce never has. Eric Snow, Aaron McKie, George Lynch, Glenn Robinson, Derrick Coleman, Tyrone Hill, Dikembe Mutombo, Matt Geiger, Theo Ratliff and so on.
Pierce, Antoine Walker, Ricky Davis, Eric Williams, Walter McCarty, Jiri Welsch, Mark Blount, Rodney Rogers, Tony Battie.
Hmm. I think the 76ers have an edge. Iverson is a great player but he is cold as much as he is hot. And remember a couple of years ago against the Pacers, Paul Pierce was unstoppable, blowing by Ron Artest and hitting EVERYTHING. I don't think their is any one man besides Kobe Bryant that can dominate like Paul Pierce.

Allen Iverson all the way. He needs to get out of philly or they need to bring someone in to help him.

I think Allen Iverson might be mentally retarded.

2 years ago he killed artest. what about this year? artest outscored him. artest is a better player then pierce and iverson is much better then both.

how is pierce better on offense? iverson is a much better scorer and passer. he also fills it up in the steals department and rebounds well for such a little guy. pierce is overrated.

I'd take Artest. He is a top defender and is before this season was the most underated offensive player I ever saw. He averaged over 15 ppg 2 years ago and people said he couldn't score. I mean 15 ppg isn't bad, but when you are young and putting that up and say they can't score is BS. Now he is a 20+ guy and is one of the leagues top players.

Pierce is MUCH better on offense. Wait a second...theres not very many players in the league who are capable of 30pts, and 7 asts. Pierce will always be a 23,7,5 guy. He needs to be the go to guy, he wouldnt be as affective with another scorer on his team. Hes more of solo scorer if you ask me. Look at his numbers with Toine' Iverson also flirts with the league leader in steals every year. And in the Olympics, sometimes put on passing displays. I admit though, it is close.
