What do you guys think about making it only college players for Team USA Basketball?
Just make sure choke artist Roy WIlliams isn't coaching it!

I think the reigning NCAA champs should participate in all World Games each summer. Whether it be the Goodwill games, or the Olympics.

The PROs don't seem to really care about the games. I can see college players being hungry to improve their draft status with a strong showing in the games.

College doesn't have the players it once did, international play is getting tough, you didn't have NCAA players playing the international guys the NBA has now. Who knows, but the NCAA guys would be fun as hell to watch.

it would be much better than watching the lame ass guys they have out there now.
the NBA is just crap. going further downhill everyday.
everyone is trying to be on a freaking highlight reel instead of playing basketball.
Today's NBA players are getting paid ridiculous ammounts of money to make the game more of a circus than a real game.

As the biggest NBA fan on the board, I actually agree. Accept that the Pistons are the greatest example of GREAT well played basketball. They have earned my respect.

I think they should almost employ a professional international team, so it could be used as the olympic and world championship team. This team would always play with the international rules and be together all the time, so it would almost be like one of the european teams. I don't know what you guys think about this but i think it would be a pretty good idea.

Maybe the ones that are not good enough for the NBA. That won't cut it.

I don’t have a problem with NBA players in the Olympics or other international events. I think the problem with this team is that, as usual, David Stern was looking to sell jerseys rather than fielding a “team”. These guys have great individual talent but you have 3 “lead-guards” in Marbury, Iverson and Wade and no true Point guards and no shooting guards. There’s only one legitimate big man in Duncan and there are about 5 or 6 guys that are virtually the same player…Marion, Jefferson, Odom, James and Anthony…I would consider them swing men…
Why not pick ‘The Mayor’ Fred Hoiberg or get a proven shooter like JJ Redick…they would only need to hit a few jumpers to keep the defenders from collapsing on Duncan and Boozer…
With our best pro players, we could still dominate…but with some better player evaluation and selection, the U.S. could still be winning these games convincingly…maybe not by 50 points…but 15-20 point margins…
If we pick college players, there’s going to be a problem trying to compete with the international pro players. Do we really think there is someone in college that can guard Nowitzki or Peja?
I don’t think we could…
Just DC’s $0.02…

I really like the college guys playing, but agree they might be overmatched at times. Perhaps the national champs could go supplimented by a few pros. Maybe five to seven from the NC and then a few select pros to fill certain needs. The college kids will play team ball and try harder and it might inspire the pros. Just a thought.

Its not like the NBA players couldn't still dominate if they wanted to. Yao Ming went off for 39 and 19 the other day for China in the Olympics. I think this team was just put together wrong.
I'd still like to see college players play though.
