bballfan, Regarding your earlier inquiry about Hawkins. Bill Self never discloses the exact nature of why a player is suspended, but Jeff was at the scrimmage Sat (not suited up) and is working out on his own. Bill Self says he is doing things the right way and hopes he can reinstate him by Oct 15. Self is considering redshirting one or two guards this year and I think Jeff Hawkings might be a candidate. I knew I had read something to that fact, just wasn't sure of the circumstances..thanks Bill

If there were one player I wouldn't mind losing on this year's Kansas team, it would have to be Jeff Hawkins. With the influx of new talent and the improvement of last year's freshmen, I would be very surprised to see Jeff play a single minute this season. IMO, he is just tying up a scholarship, as he isn't very good at all. We could use that scholarship for one of those studs in the 2006 class. ;D

Hawkins has already redshirted his freshman year. He came in with Miles, Langford, Simien, and Lee. I don't know the rule about redshirting, but I thought you could only redshirt 1 year unless if it is a medical redshirt. The last I heard was Case was the best candidate for this years redshirt.
