THE Ohio State University. QB-Between Zwick and Smith, just need to find a guy to cut down on the mistakes. OL-finally not a bunch of big, slow hogs rolling around. I have been hearing that this is a more ahtletic OL than in the past. RB-Ross is a senior, if he doesnt put up a huge year, you can forget about this post. Brandon Joe is about as good as it gets at FB, but he needs to stay healthy. WR-Santonio Holmes is a beast, Roy Hall is HUGE 6'3" 228 LBs , and Bam Childress is a slippery WR and a senior who needs to fins some consistency. Hamby is a solid pass-catching TE. DL-Lose lost of talent as only Simon Fraser returns. Leaves me a bit concerned, but the cupboard ain't bare. Quinn Pitcock, Marcus Green, and Mike Kudla all got a lot of PT last year. Watch out for David Patterson as well. LB-Strength of the team. No other team has the talent and depth of OSU. Hawk is gonna be an All-American, Carpenter had a coming out game against KSU. Schlegal, who was all-MWC at Air Force before he transferred to OSU, and D'Andrea, who is a physical freak of nature, compete for the MLB spot. Look for a little 3-4 just to get all 4 of em on the field at once. DB-Fox is gonna be a 3 year starter at CB, 2nd team all-big 10 last year, enough said. Salley is gonna kill someone with all those hits he lays out. Hes big and fast. EJ Underwood is gonna be the other CB, and Jim Tressel called him the most talented CB he has had at Ohio State (including Gamble, Derek Ross, and Nate Clements). Donte Whitner oughtta be the other safety, and he is FAST. A little smaller than Salley, but he still brings the wood as well., K-Nugent is back, no problems P-Turano and Hutson battle it out. Incoming Fr Trapasso enrolled early and then got cited twice for underage drinking, fwiw. Being that this is the most important position on a Jim Tressel team, I hope someone emerges. I know this means jack squat to 99%, but now I can go back and say I told you so at the end of the season. And if I am wrong, this post will be convinently deleted. ;D

They won't even finish in the top 2 of their own conference. I'm going to have to go with Oklahoma for the national championship.

Michigan can take it this year. We have a pretty easy OCC schedule. Our toughest being Notre Dame at South Bend. I think we can beat them. We got San Diego State and Miami of Ohio both coming to the Big House, so, we can't overlook them, but we will win. We'll beat Iowa this year and end their 2 year streak of beating us. 2002 they had an awsome team, and last year our punt team was pitiful. We can get them, since they are coming to the Big House. We got Indiana on the road, unless they have something up their sleeve, we got them. Minnesota was a fluke last year, no way they'll get us like that this year at the Big House. We got Illinois on the road, but, I think we can get the win. Then we have Purdue on the road. This one is going to be tough. They lost John Standeford, so Stubblefield is going to have to step up his play, and against our secondary, I think we can take them. Michigan State at the Big House with no Smoker, we have them. Then its Northwestern at the Big House. Win. Then its the Big Game. Michigan vs. Ohio State at the Shoe. I think Michigan can take them because they have no Krenzel, no Will Allen, no Will Smith, no Micheal Jenkins, and no Gamble. We held their running game last year to 54 yards on 25 trys, that is little over 2 yards a carry. They need to be able to run the ball to win, and I don't think they can do that against us. Michigan can go anywhere this year from 12-0 to 9-3. If they play up to standards, they will be in the Orange Bowl this year playing for a NC.

People said that same exact words 2 years ago and look where they wound up. 2 years ago OSU had questions at QB, RB, OL, WR, and DB. I'm not saying it is very likely to happen, but the similarities are startling and it would be foolish to think that history couldn't repeat itself.

The QB's that OSU have now are young with limited experience. Lydell Ross and Maurice Hall didn't amaze last year as juniors so I wouldnt expect them to do so as seniors.

Krenzel had about 5 quarters of experience and Zwick has about 1 or 2 quarters of experience. Not much for either.

And as far as Miami getting screwed, just watch this and see who got screwed to begin with... www.michaelseufer.com/gamble/pc_version.html

Who will it be. I'm going with USC. When exactly did everyone jump on the USC bandwagon? ? I don't see USC getting to the Orange Bowl. Look for them back in the Rose, where they will again face Michigan. Oklahoma will win the NC. But I believe there will be another split. Whoever wins the ACC will take the other half. USC was great last year, but they were no better than either LSU or OU. Watch for both USC and LSU to lose at least 1, maybe 2. I would have loved to have seen LSU vs USC last year. The Trojans would not have been able to beat LSUs defense.
