Im going to go with defense. Geaux tigers. A good offense can't beat a good defense, at least in my mind.

They're exactly equal.
People love to use cliches when the talk about it, but one teams defense plays the others offense and an one teams offense plays anothers defense.

Well, when your defense outscores your offense, your defense is a lot more important...

No, its not.
If you're offense is just as bad as your D is good then the other teams D will equal your teams D's score.
You still need the O to be better than absolutely horrible.

Disagree with that completely. Texas Tech had won of the best offenses in the country last year but werent any good cause of their defense. Just look at the last couple of NC, they had good offenses but had better defenses. Look at the records of the teams of the top ranked offenses from last year, then compare that to the records of the topped ranked D's.

Tennessee won its championship with luck and a dominating D! Hopefully the same will be said this year too.

The Best Offense would beat the Best Defense.

The Best Offense would beat the Best Defense. Thats false, you want to know why thats false? OU had the best offense last year. LSU had the best defense last year. Defense Beat Offense. You cant win if your offense cant score, but you can win if you defense scores for you

Spears I believe was the one with the INT for a TD. That was a great game towards the end. OU just started to come back too late in the game. The best defense will always beat the best offense.

You cant win if your offense cant score, but you can win if you defense scores for you OU didn't have the best offense ast year, it was good, but not the best. Everyone, including me, thought they had the best D in 20 years before the big 12 championship game.

Texas Tech had a good O, but you can't it was one of the best purely because of numbers. Most of the best teams had better O's then Texas Tech. Last couple National Champs we're talking about 2003 - USC and LSU 2002 - Ohio State 2001 - Miami Frankly, I think OSU and LSu had good offenses and great D's Miami was great on both sides of the ball. I don't know how you could say one side was better than the other. USC's Offense was better thn its D, dispite having a great D
