Spurs Ginobli and Tony Parker - Good players, I give them that.. but three simple words can sew it up.. 1. Streaky 2. Inconsitant 3. OVERRATED! Underrated... Garnett.. I say KG simply because the guy doesn't get his deserved award. MVP. Let's also add Deveon George to the overrated list.. just to make it fair

Do you really believe he's gone or is it more like a "hope" he is gone??
Myself, a Laker fan.. I'm not sure..
I read, see, and hear all the small interviews and comments that don't make it into all the papers and media outlits other then maybe local raido shows.. and I can honestly say, I'm not sure.
Side One. I can understand Kobe wanting to become a free agent, he's never been a free agent. I don't see any reason for Kobe not to opt out and become a free agent.. Even if I was going to stay in LA, I would opt out, for the hell of it. Kobe isn't a stupid guy, he knows his best chance at winning is in Los Angeles. Kobe loves living his personal life in Los Angeles. Kobe can get many more, and a lot larger endorsements, playing for Los Angeles.. then he could in a Memphis franchise. The Los Angeles Lakers can pay Kobe more money, then any other team in the NBA.
Side Two. Kobe and Shaq don't get along the greatest.. it's not as bad as the media and Laker-Haters say it is.. but it does exist. Kobe would like to prove, he's the best. Thus he would like to captain his own team.. ala MJ. Kobe has strong ties with Jerry West, as he was the one that felt Kobe was the next best thing, when no one else did. West made Kobe feel like a Lebron James, when others doubted.
I know, no one else would agree, cause 99% of you are just drooling to see the Lakers be dismanteled. I guess if I was a fan of another team, I would hope for the same. After saying that.. I still don't see Kobe Bryant leaving Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant can make more money with the Lakers through contract Kobe Can make more money in endorsements.. he's gonna need the help of a large market like LA or NY to get back those endorsments. Kobe has a chance to win more championships then anyone staying in Los Angeles. Kobe will captain the LA team in 2 or 3 years. When he's in the prime of his career. Kobe won't have to adapt to another coach.. he likes Phil Jackson. Kobe has the strongest fan support he could get in LA.
Even though, I don't believe Kobe wants to play in Memphis.. I wouldn't put ANYTHING pass Jerry West.. he is a true genius.

Kobe is arguably the best defender at his postion.. he's not like TMac, who can't guard for sheet!
