umm gtown phil jackson is obviously a great coach, the lakers couldnt win with the same guys before jackson got there, but once phil came in the lakers won three consecutive championships...
and phil almost got the bulls to the finals again after MJ left, well he got em sorta deep in the playoffs.
also i hate to say it but pippen has the recognition because of jordan, he did have an above average career dont get me wrong, but he didnt deserve to be named on the "NBA's 50 greatest players" list back a few years ago. he has always been a solid player though and im not trying to take anything away from the guy, lol the lakers should go coax him outta retirement.

i think payton is going to flourish this season under doc rivers. last year he was put in a offensive system that wasnt designed for him at all, he had no idea what was goin on and was expected to produce by hitting jump shots. payton has never been a great jumpshooter, hes all about creating off the dribble, making layups, and occasionally posting up. hes definately lost a step or two on the defensive side of the ball, but he also wasnt getting any help last year, as we all know shaq has never been able to defend the pick and roll, which makes the lakers look worse defensivly as a whole.
(btw i cant spell for shit)

this is not a fact, he never named shaq in the interview that i know of. he said that one of the players on the lakers has paid woman money to not talk about their sexual relationships, he never actually named shaq, everyone just assumed thats who he was talking about, when in all reality he was probably talking about rick fox

ok i have a couple questions real quick, im enjoying the 24/7 mode alot atm, working up an avatar of me is just fun ;D does anyone know if there is like a goal to get drafted in the end or something? i heard a rumor about it but im not sure, didnt go look for information or anything. i think the best tie in they could have done is that you can get drafted to a team of your choice (un realistic i know) and then use your team in franchise with you on it. thats more or less what my friend said and it influenced me buying game, but not sure if thats how it works.
oh and some players are just ridiculous in that game. i played my friend the other day , i was dallas and he was playing pheonix, not our fav teams but we were just messing around. anyway i go up in the first quarter by 16 or something very close to that (we were playing 6 mins quarters) and hes having trouble scoring with marion or amare. all the sudden he starts driving with nash.... hes unstoppable. hes got 28 with nash by halftime and ive got a 2 point lead. he just kept driving with him everytime down the floor, hed do 2 spins then take maybe a 3 to 5 foot jumper, i couldnt stop him. given its like the first time weve played but jeebus. i tried doubling him everything , it was horrible. by the end of the game nash had 74 points... the rest of his team had 4. for being touted as the most realistic BBall game out there it was ridiculous. anyway that really sorta turned me off of the game, but now im playing 24/7, its pretty fun.

i just got espn 2k5 .... im not very impressed. im more of a football game guy myself and love madden, but back in the day i played alot of nba live, so i figured id get this, since its super hyped and only 20 bucks.
the worst thing about the game is the free throw system, its absolutely horrible. other than that there seems to be alot more blocks than there should be, which isnt a big deal really, just sorta annoying. another thing is the animations on a lot of things are way overdone. also there is a grip of glitches throughout the game, but what can you really expect for 20 dollars? i guess i was just expecting a bit more out of the game on a whole, its still fun and im playing it more than madden right now.
anyway just my thoughts you might love it /shrug

all i can say is that would be an amazing trade for the blazers if kidd can get and stay healthy this season, but if its gonna happen i dont think it will happen until the season is well under way. thats a monster contract to take on for an aging point guard with bad knees. if kidd starts playing well in the beginning of the season alot of teams are gonna be interested in getting him outta NJ.

Honestly i hated him before he came to LA, not because of his play style, i think he just plays to win and doesnt let people walk all over him, but because the lakers constantly played the jazz and he was good, him and that lil bastard stockton, those two caused alot of pain over the years.

i love the way malone plays, and i think he will only come back if about 20 games into the season the lakers are at least playing .500 ball, if not hes staying retired

aight K-mart would wup KG's ass in my opinion.
also i have read this a couple different places that all the other players were clowning garnett about the white rookie kid scoring on him multiple times in a scrimmage.
the kid probably scored and then did something stupid like talk shit to KG and get in his face, so he got socked. is it right? no, but as a rookie you shouldnt be doin stupid things like that until you know the guys on your team. but garnett was definatly in the wrong, a superstar and the leader of your team should be more mature about stuff. and to call garnett selfish is unfair i think, he might be the most unselfish superstar, he reworked his contract to free up more money to get more talent around him... thats pretty unselfish if you ask me. he also takes way fewer shots than i think he should on that team, hes constantly been criticized for not taking over the team during a game i.e. not taking enough shots.
