I dont even see why they passed up on Carmelo? I mean at first I thought it was because they already had a guy like Rip but then I remembered he played SG so I am still wondering why they didnt draft him. I bet they were just afraid they would miss out on the next Dirk or Peja or someone. It would have been better if Detroit wouldve drafted Carmelo because then Detroit and Cleveland would be the ultimate rival in a few years because they are in the same division and everything and both in the east it would have just been better. But oh well I guess, Detroit would be in first right now if they had another scorer, that's all I gotta say.

Gatta remember draft is mainly based on Potential not Skill, if the person with better potential isn't as skilled he will prolly go 1st because of what he CAN be not what he is then.

i still think that all european players are a major hit and miss, and detroit had the chance to get carmelo who i guarentee will be better than darko even if darko ends up being as good as he is supposed to

Detroit drafed Darko because they know what very few know...Carmelo is not going to be a superstar, he's not very fast, not a good defender, Glenn Robinson clone. Your all giving up on Darko way too fast.

Nobody is giving up on Darko I just think passing up on Carmelo was a dumb move by Detroit, that's all. Darko will be good hopefully but Carmelo would make them that much better.

Carmelo wouldn't start for the Pistons anyway...Don't let his Denver stats fool you. He's not shooting a good percentage from the field, not defending well....that means that he would not play for Brown. Carmelo's scoring is only high because he is sadly there only hope at scoring. Tayshaun Prince is there future at forward so why not take a guy that won't play right away? Let him develope and let the veterans play and bring them to the playoff's.

The Nuggets have a lot more scorers then just Carmelo. Lenard, Miller, Nene and Boykins are all averaging double digits in scoring. He would be scoring more if he were on Detroit because they are one of the worst offensive teams in the league. So what he can't play amazing defense but he is decent and Detroit has enough defense what they really need to be succesfull is a scorer and that is exactly what Carmelo does. If they would have drafted him they would have been a lot better team then they are right now I guarentee you that.

I wouldn't say Andre Miller an Nene are really scorers because they don't take many shots. Again Tayshaun Prince would be the starter in Detroit anyway so he would come off the bench.

its not a fact Tayshaun would start, Carmelo would have puttin up a great fight for that starting spot.

Not really, it's been known for awhile that Brown doesn't care for Carmelo much. Tayshuan plays good defense, has VERY long arms and can shoot well from outside...No way Carmelo would start.
