Not joking! SMU won last week against a Div 1-A team! And it was not ARMY or Bufalo either!

That news is quite shocking.

Wow. I figured they'd get a win on SOMEBODY this year, but I didn't really expect it to be SJSU. I thought SJSU would be in the next wave of schools snatched up by either the MWC or the Pac-10 (after Boise and Fresno, natch), but losing to SMU is no way to go anywhere.

San Jose blows hard. No wonder they are a common Pac10 opponent. USC plays them for that matter.

Eh, they played them in 2001. Two teams play San Jose St this year though. Stanford and Washington.

that was 3 years ago! Its a Calafornia team, of course other west coast teams are going to play them. Just like most other teams from every other major conference plays weeker teams in their region or even Div 1-AA school for easy wins. Saying that one teams pads their schedule is very biased. A majority of the BCS schools do it.

The difference is, Pac10 supporters act like their Noncon schedule is incredible. They play good teams, and crappy teams, just like everyone else.
And then there is San Jose, who might not have a football team in the future if their Board of Directors has anything to say about it.

They will not bail on the FB program just because they lost to SMU. They will still be playing horrible football years from now

They weren't talking about bailing because of the SMU loss, they were discussing it before. You never know, other schools have discussed it (Tulane), and my school (I-AA ETSU) actually did get rid of football.

Good for SMU!!! I have a couple of friends up there, and it is about time they got something to go their way. Anyway, I think SMU will be happy with any win they can get.
