because they are on a team that gives them no run support. Pitchers like Ben Sheets and Oliver Perez have ERA's around 3 and struggle to get more wins then loses. No one talks about how good they are because they don't win 20 games. I think besides WHIP, ERA is the most important pitching stat and W/L really means nothing to how good a player is.

Mark Mulder gets no respect. Ben Sheets with run support is a 20 game winner. Kenny Rogers for an older guy gets no respect.

His ERA is horrible tho. He only gets that many wins because he is on such a good offensive team. If Perez or Sheets was on those teams they would win 25 games.
