Tennessee State Tigers (0-0) @ Tennessee Volunteers (1-0) www.foxsports.com/widgets/FS/CBK/SiteElement/Image/Jellies/Large/580
[/img][/pre] Tennessee State took the court for the first time under new head coach Braden Meador. Meador comes from Fordyce High School where he won 3 State Championships in 7 years. The future is bright for Tiger basketball. The Tennessee Volunteers have a lot to look forward to. The Vols have had consistently good years, and look to continue their streak. The Spread[/u] Tennessee -12 On the Tigers first possesion, Sophomore PG Adrian Pritchett took the ball down the court, penetrating into the lane, dishing the ball back behind the perimiter to Senior Guard Garrett Richardson for a wide open 3!!! TSU led 3-0. The rest of the 1st half was dominated by the Volunteers. More than doubling the Tigers' rebounding total in the 1st half. Half Time : Vols 28 Tigers 15The Vols took the court in the 2nd half, continuing what they were doing in the first half, dominating. Using incredible passing, and rebounding to give themselves a 36-17 cushion with just over6 minutes to play. However, the Tigers' were not to be taken lightly. Garrett Richardson led the Tiger comeback with 13 points, pulling the Tigers to within 5 with just over a minute to play. A steal by Pritchett and it looked as though the Tiger's would cut it to 3, but Brandon Lockridge's shot from about 2 feet away, simply rolled out of the rim. The Vols would hit 3/6 of their free-throws and go onto win the game, 53-49. a little update here. I didn't have time to do individual gaming reports for each game, so i will just update for now, and have another report soon.
vs Chattanooga, W 56-52 @ Vanderbilt, L 67-60 vs Alabama A&M, W 70-56
we are now 2-2 overall, and our next game is gonna be a tough one, at Georgia Tech.
