Preseason Power Rankings1) New England- This is a given, they won the superbowl and made there team better by picking up Dillon and having some good draft picks.
2) Indianapolis Colts- Peyton and this hot offense will be tough to stop, but with the D it will be hard to go far. They need to do something this year.
3) Philadelphia Eagles- If Lito and Sheldon can play up to where they are expected to play the Eagles have a great shot to actually win the NFC title game and even the Super Bowl.
4) Minnesota Vikings- They have the best Offense and added a redzone weapon. Also adding immediate impact players at therr 2 weakest positions in the offseason will make that D much better. Could turn into a serious SB contendor.
5) Baltimore Ravens- They need Boller to step up, if not they will need to rely on Jamal to carry the load again. If he gets sent to jail they can kiss their season goodbye, but if not with that defense they are a top team.
6) Washington Redskins- Gibbs loves to run the ball and by getting Portis he can do it as much as he wants. That will open up the pass game for Coles and Gardner. If they can play solid D watch out for this team.
7) Denver Broncos- By getting Champ they made there secondary one of the top in the NFL. I don't think they will be able to replace Portis, but with all the solid choices they have at HB they can find someone to replace his spot.
8) Kansas City Chiefs- The offense is why this team is so high. They say there D is improved, but I want to see it 1st.
9) Seattle Seahawks- If there WR's can learn to catch it there offense will be a top 5 and possibly top 3 in the NFL. There secondary is no joke and they have a solid nucleus at the other spots on the D. They are serious contendors to win the NFC.
10) Cincinnati Bengals- I think Rudi is a little overated, but they have a solid D and Palmer is going to be a stud. He will have some growing pains, but Chad Johnson will make it a little easier on him.
11) Green Bay Packers- They need MM back or they will get taken to school in the passing game. The Vikings and Lions both have 3 good WR's, they need him back... Ahman will be a top canidate for MVP and I think will win it.
12) Dallas Cowboys- With Eddie carrying some of the load they can rely on the running game a little more then last season. They will have a solid offense with a good defense. If they weren't in the NFC North they would be a playoff team. They will just miss out on the playoffs.
13) New Orleans Saints- Brooks will emerge as a top QB in the NFL. Duece is a top HB, and they have Horn and Stallworth. If they can get there defense to play some they could be some tough competition.
14) Carolina Panthers- Yeah they won the NFC last year, but I think they will just miss the playoffs to the suprising Saints. Losing all those people in the secondary and line will hurt big time. Delhomme will turn into a bust for the money they gave him.
15) Houston Texans- Carr will become a star this season and Andre Johnson will become a top WR in the NFL. With DD in the backfield and a better line, there D is no fluke. On defense they have good starters, but no depth so if they want to have a shot at playoffs they need to stay healthy.
16) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- If they could get Keenan to sign they could have a shot to win the divison, but without him they have no offense and will miss playoffs.
17) Tennessee Titans- McNair is always fightin through injuries, but someday that is going to catch up to him and effect his play. They need someone to fill Eddie's void before getting back into playoff contention.
18) St. Louis Rams- I think this team is done. Bulger is overated, Bruce and Faulk are both getting up in age. They have no defense, this team is going to be a big disapointment to fans.
19) Jacksonville Jaguars- I think they are good, but wont have a passing attack right away. I don't think Reggie will be a difference from Day 1, more like end of season he will start to be a difference in games. Next season watch out for this team tho.
20) Detroit Lions- They have so much youth they will start off slow, but this team has a bright future. Finally Lions fans have something to look forward to.
21) New York Jets- Pennington to Santana is a nice combo, but this team just doesn't have the pieces yet.
22) Atlanta Falcons- This team will not have a good season. Schuab is playing better in the new system then Vick and without Vick running that will take a few games away from them. It will take him atleast this season to get the hang of the West Coast Offense.
23) Buffalo Bills- They don't have a great team at the moment, but in a few years everyone will know the combo of Losman, McGahee, and Evans as much as Peyton, Edge, and Harrison now. Losman will be the best QB of this draft, McGahee will be a top back for many years, and Evans will be solid.
24) Arizona Cardinals- Yes, the Cardinals at 24... This team will be solid this season, just watch. They have an explosive passing game and they team overall keeps getting better.
25) Pittsburgh Steelers- Need Plax to have a huge season again or it will be a long season for Steeler fans. Roeth I think will be a bust, but for the moment atleast Steeler fans can think of the future.
26) San Diego Chargers- They have a nice young defense and will keep getting better. They still have no OLine or WR's and will have QB controversy for a while. Since Bree's should start because of Rivers holdout, but fans will want Rivers playing. How will they win? LT will win them a few games himself. Will be a rough season.
27) Oakland Raiders- They have good QB's so they don't have to worry about injuries there, but this team is too old to compete vs some of the quick, young teams. They have a solid defense, but the offense is pathetic.
28) Chicago Bears- Losing Booker will hurt this offense immensly. They got Ogunleye, but the D still isn't that great.
29) Miami Dolphins- Wow, I don't know where to start. Fielder starting again at QB, Ricky Williams retiring, and Boston being out for possibly the whole season... If they win 5 games D.W. should keep his job, because that is an accomplishment.
30) New York Giants- In such a tough division they will be out of the playoff race fast. Thus handin the ball down to Eli and that means rookie growing pains. I'm sure the fans wont be happy to lose this many games, but they got the guy they wanted in the draft so they should expect a rebuilding time.
31) Cleveland Browns- Butch Davis will be the 1st coach unemployed. The Browns have a ways before the will be competing again.
32) San Francisco 49ers- There #1 WR is Bradon Lloyd... Barlow will be good, but with Rattay at QB and his weapons are Lloyd and Rashaun Woods, don't expect this team to score much. They lost a lot of starters from last season. The almighty 49ers are finally out for a while.
I will do my weekly picks next... I Think Pats will win 20-17 vs Colts and I will do the rest of my predictions later in the week on its own post.
