As a marylnd fan, I can identify with your experience. But not with Tennessee fans, wth the WVU fans at this past years Gator Bowl. Every single Tennessee fan i met at the peach bowl two years go was pleasant and nice, before and after the game.

There's a reason they call it the Gator Nation But outside of my Gators, I'd say Michigan has some good fans. Don't really know alot about Big Ten teams. LSU has got some crazies too.

Fullforce, Maybe they were upset at having lost to a (in their eyes) lower class team for a second year running. For the most part, they seemed to yell at their own team WAY more than they yelled at us.

Nebraska, Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, can all get votes. I'll make a case for UK. We are in the top 25 nationally in attendance (69,000+ per game) and every year we get beat by the rest of the SEC like a rented mule. That's loyalty, or at least delusion. I won't put us at #1, but at least we are good fans. And bowl comittees love us, those one in 5 years we manage to go. And we are so polite when we lose, unlike basketball season. From my bartending days, I loved seeing LSU fans come to town. Lots of fun, and great tippers, too.

Cause I remember LSU fans pushing UT players when they beat them in OT that year. What kind of punk, drunk, students try to push someone wearing pads and a helmet? I wouldn't have had the restraint to not beat one down. Of course, that was only a few of them. Haven't seen them since. Clemson fans have a unique trait where we go to the bank and take all our money out in $2 bills, then we stamp little orange tiger paws on them. This shows the town that has the bowl how much money clemson fans spent. Any other schools do this?

I think you answered your own question..."punk, drunk, students". Please don't think these LSU fans are representative of all of us. I have never been disrespectful to an opposing crowd, or team. Those LSU fans pushing the UT players was embarassing for me, and many other LSU fans. Good luck to your Tigers.

Yeah, every school has the group that can't hold their liquor. I certainly wasn't meaning it to be the majority, only the ones that had the gumption to run out on the field. Mob mentality makes people stupid, see Georgia when they trampled some girl to death when they finally beat Tennessee. Maybe Rocky Top has that effect on fans. From what I saw at the Sugar Bowl, LSU fans were certainly respectable, unlike 2001 when Florida and Miami fans fought in the French Quarter.
