I scored SOS on a formula that took into account several factors.
-Number of preseason ranked teams played. (I know this means nothing but it is all I had to go on.)
-Number of home and road games. Counting games on neutral sites as road games.
-Opponents 2003 record.
-Number of starters returning on opposing teams. And the percentage of the teams total production they are responsible for.
-A point bonus for possible conference championship games. (BIG 12, MAC, and SEC teams)
-Timing of game. Such as a game against a possible ranked opponent that takes place a week after another game against a possible ranked opponent.
-Lesser point value for game against non-bcs conference opponent. (Usualy 1 or 2 points)
-Lesser point value for non DIV-1 teams.
-Point bonus for games agianst quality teams. (BCS conference teams with a minimum of 8 wins, and non bcs teams with at least 9 wins (2003 Record). Several other factors went into this such as their own SOS.)
