[glow=red,2,300]USC 24--VT 13[/glow] That was supposed to be the preseason #1? What a joke. If those refs were not blind, USC would be 0-1. Trojans just dropped out of my top 3. Despite the loss VT is certainly capable of being ranked. VT should have won that game. Did anyone on here actually see the guy push off? I sure as heck didn't. I will now change my prediction for USC this year. They go 9-3 in the regular season and finish out of the top 10. PAC 10 is wide open.

It was the first game of the year. You can't except it to be like a midseason game

What about the "face-mask" that prevented an early punt FROM THE 9?
BRING INSTANT REPLAY TO COLLEGE BALL

Matt Leinart for Heisman? More like reggie bush, he gave leinart some good YAC yards which were most of his yards. Even though the #s were good, Leinart didnt impress me mcuh

Like I said you guys, don't go crashing down on USC just yet. Give them a few games and EVERY OTHER TEAM a few games before we start judging teams.

It was the first game of the year. You can't except it to be like a midseason game USC did not live up to any expectations, regardless of the fact that this was the first game of the year. The refs are blind. VT should be 1-0. USC is so incerdibly lucky to have gotten that win. They should be 0-1. USC is not going to make it to the Orange. That game was almost laughable. SC will be lucky for a 10-2 season now. I say Cal beats em. The second loss.....heck why not Notre Dame just for laughs! SC is still a good team, but is no longer by any stretch of the imagination worthy of that #1 spot. GO COLORADO STATE!!!!! SC just cost me some money, me and soonerfan are pissed. USC will not beat any ranked teams this year. Then again they will probably end up playing just the one.

No wonder you guys arent happy yeah, that was probably the worst that could have happened, USC win and not cover the spread, the other two options i would have been ok with. Damn trojans

Bravo Big Ten....... At least someone realizes the need for instant replay.
My New Top 10 1. OU 2. LSU 3. Georgia 4. Michigan 5. Miami 6. Texas 7. USC 8. Florida State 9. Ohio State 10.Clemson
I would like to correct my earlier statement. SC just sucked their way out of my top 6. They will be lucky for even a top 5 finish.
Go Colorado State!!!!!!

I would agree with this, if it weren't for all the PAC 10's insistance that the reason they beat Auburn so badly last year was because THEY WERE UP ALL YEAR LONG, and Auburn wasn't down for their first 2 games. Some of those fans want it both ways (and I'm not saying you specifically).
So which is it, are they slow because of the first game, or are they not as good? The announcers made note of the fact that they held VT's offense to like, 75 yards most of the way through the 4th quarter. They didn't mention that minus the dumb penalty and given the catch yards, it would have been 125 yards HAD NOTHING ELSE BEEN DIFFERENT. Hell, the refs tried to let SC cover the spread back in the first when they missed that personal foul facemask and allowed them another first down, letting them go down and miss a FG.

Another funny thing during the game was a prompt that they put up on the screen during the first quarter. WHY USC IS #1 #5 on the list was easy schedule. The refs in that game sucked. So many terrible calls.
