Im not a huge buff and baseball, nor do I pretend to be. But I do know a decent amount. And I honestly think that Scott Rolen is going to surpass Mike Schmitt as the best third basemen of all time. Rolen was great with the Phillies, and is not starting to get alot of pub with the Cardinals. I dont think Schmitt hit 50 plus homeruns in his career, and I know Rolen is at least close to Schmitts level on defense.
Not to mention the fact that Rolen is young and has many more great seasons a head of him.
What do you guys think?

The Yankess may have the most talented team off all time in sports history. It suprised me last year that they didnt win it all. Now they have a much better team and the talent got more spreaded around this year.
-Kevin Brown - Gary Sheffield - Alex Rodriguez
... Those 3 right there are near/ are all-star quality. Already adding to a VERY good Yankees roster. Baseball NEEDS a salary cap.
The Phillies made some big moves this year. They got Billy Wagner: a very good closer, which the Phillies most needed. Doug Glanville: A above average fielder and a solid lead-off man. Tim Worrell: Much needed addition to the pitching squad. Eric Milton: Another solid pitcher who will help close games... those are some big additions. They get my vote for team to go further than people expect.
The Red Sox recieved a HUGE addition of Schilling. And now have 17 players on there roster around the age of 27-32. And if you think about it, thats alot of players around the age of there prime. Kim(I wont try his 1st name) has alot of expirence with the all-star game and he has played in a world-series.
They also have very solid vets like: Jason Varitek, Johnny Damon, Keith Foulke, David Ortiz, Kevin Millar, Bill Mueller, Trot Nixon and Derek Lowe. They might not stack up to the Yanks on paper, but the freakin' Marlins won it last year and no way did they compare to them on paper. Then again, no one ever compares to the Yankees every year on paper.
P.S- I dont know if its still on the site, but ESPN is predicting the Rockies to be last years Marlins, and 2 years ago Angels. Talked about how they get alot of people back from injury and minor league players. I forget what all it said, but it was a good article. You should try and look for it.

Some of us have the horror of having to wait for our senior basketball season to show what your schools basketball team is all about. Well I'm here to break down me and Sped's grade.
PG:Taylor Volpe 5'8" 135lbs Strengths: I have honestly never seen this kid get picked from his dribble. His handle is simply awesome. Hes not the And1 type, but he has a quick crossover and in and out. Is a pretty smart player on the court and knows whats goin on alot of the time. Probably the best mid range jumper in the grade. Has a decent 3 ball, pretty inconsistant though. Weaknesses: Isn't very big as you can see. Throws passes away alot and gets into trouble with turnovers. Can be taken in the post alot by just about anyone. Has very slow quickness and speed.
SG: Andrew Shaner(Sped) 5'11" 150lbs Strengths:Is very versatile on the perimeter. Can play anywhere from Point to Small Forward. Handles are pretty good, and is smart on the court. Mid range jumper and 3 ball are improving very greatly and is starting to score more. Has very good man to man defense, and will get alot of steals. And will block a shot once in awhile. And is a pretty good passer. Weaknesses: Also isn't very big or bulky. Shot is coming around, but release is very slow. Post defense needs to improve, or else would probably would cover Powers. Doesn't take his layups very strong, changing his shot alot.
SF: Kody Webb(Me) 5'10" 160lbs Strenghs: Im pretty quick(or at least think I am) and fairly fast. Im pretty good at post defense cause I usually cover Powers or Centers regardless of who is on the court for us. Mid range jumper is decent, I make a living behind the arc. Also block a shot once in while. Passing on the perimter is alright, post passing is my speciality in the passing department. I take alot of charges, and am so far our leading rebounder on varsity.(2 games) Weaknesses: Man to man defense needs to improve alot. Handle isn't very good, I would never play Shooting Guard. Gte caught watching the ball alot. And I sometimes get into foul trouble.
PF: Jordan Kilbourn 6'1" 165lbs Strengths: Completely reminds me of Jermaine O'Neal in the post. And Dirk Nowitzki on the perimeter. Blocks shots quit often. Post moves are getting better and better every day. One of the better all around shooters on the team. Handle is pretty good, which alows him to play Small Forward alot. Post defense is pretty decent. Weaknesses: Man to man defense is pretty bad. Would probably be a Small Forward 75% of the time if he could play man to man d. Try's to block too many shots underneath and gets fouls. Doesn't have much knowledge for the game, and sometimes does stupid stuff. Will once in awhile get into moods when he wants to do nothing but shoot.
C: Dan Egly 6'1" 185lbs Strengths: His greatest asset is probably his strength. Plays alot like Amare Stoudamire. Starts at Power Forward on varsity so he gets his fare share of bigger players than him he has to cover. Has about a 10-12 foot jumper that'll go in. Believe it or not is the fastest kid on our team. Blocks a ton of shots, many off the backboard. Weaknesses: Isn't a very good passer and will sometimes cause turnovers. Post moves or horrible. Basically just jumps into people and scores. Fouls out of just about every game he has played in.
6th Man: PF/C Adam Shaner 6'0" 175lbs Strenghts: Is defiently a husle player. Has no problem with diving on the floor. Has very good post moves. Is pretty lengthy, whick makes for good rebounding ability. That and he is good at boxing out. Has about a 8 foot jumper. Good on post defense. Weaknesses: Doensn't really have any scoring ability. Passing needs tweaked a bit. Could expand his range a little bit too. A pretty sound player, doesn't excel in anything, but isn't horrible in anything either.

Imma give Vinsanity a A+ for a few reasons, although I hate Carolina, and mostly all other bandwagon teams.
1. He lets me stay at his house and eat his food.(Im practically his neighbor)
2. He doesnt complain about swearing or anything like that.
3. He knows his sports, unlike alot of people who post on here.
4. I have no idea how he can have Vinsanity in all of the things hes in that requires a username, and keep typing that in cause it so long.
5. I think grading moderators is dumb because all someone wants to do is find out how much everyone likes them.

Man, this thread makes me feel old, you guys don't realize, but I'm sure you've heard it...enjoy the time you have left as a teenager, savor every minute, chase girls, be a kid, push the envelope....cuz it's all going to change and you don't get the time back, your going to remember your days in High School forever so make the best of it...now I sound like my Dad..may he RIP Its easy to say that, but although I dont know your age but im gonna guess that your grew up in a age where as long as your "tried your hardest" you pretty much passed. I ask my parents for help on homework and they look at it like my teacher scribbled on my paper. Kids are expected to grow up and get Yale degrees. The only thing school teaches you is how poor you are, that your fat, no one likes you, how you cant make friends, and why your picked last in gym class. If you get a job 5 days a week, 7 1/2, 8 ours a day, you can afford a small apartment and decent living by yourself. With no one there to critisize you.

Its kinda unfair to posters who have only been here for a few weeks. So with posters who have like under 150 posts, maybe like a rookie somethin like that type of award? Just a suggestion. I honestly have no idea where a smiley like that could be placed in a post.

Just thought that would be a good time to bust that weird lil' smiley out. I hope your gonna judge this on quality of posts, not a guy with 2 million posts and no life. No poking fun, just making a suggestion.
