Ok. Lets just say this somehow happens. The Lakers trade a player or 2, and give up a draft pick, and land a top 5 pick. They end up drafting Pavel Pokalazine(sp?) The whole league is screwed if the following happen:
1. Karl Malone retires and/or is injured for the season.
2. Pavel ends up to be somethin decent and is promoted to a starter.
3. He puts up around 12-15 points a game.
4. Shaq then plays Power Forward. (Considering Pavel is 4 inches taller than him.)
- How would any team be able to play defense against them. Pavel is 7'5", naturally he is gonna be double teamed, just about every guy that size is, no matter what there skill level happens to be. Shaq will have alot more one on one post opportunities. And will have much more smaller guys covering him.

That is like this.....
What if I fall down the stairs, then get up and get shot by a burgler then I run down the hallway and trip on a pair of skates and land on a knife then I sit up and god this makes as much sence as your post.... ;D

You act like Pavel is going to be Yao Ming because he's tall, He'd be on the bench because from what I have heard he's kind of clueless, and if it did happen chances are by the time Pavel got polished Shaq would be 38.

You act like the Lakers have a good bench for Forwards and Centers. Devean George would be pushing it playing power(6'8"...with SF skills), and Medvedenko is horrible. I havnt seen Walton play much, but even if he would start, Pavel would get serious minutes.
