What are the chances of Utah cracking the BCS good ole boys association? Personally I think that they are looking pretty good, if they run the table.

I like Fresno State's better. They have more of a history.

Utah should probably go undefeated because they have a really easy schedule, I dont know if they will make the BCS but might since SOS is no longer part of BCS.

I think SOS was a crock anyway, I mean you can never put a number on how difficult it is to beat your conference rivals. They know you inside and out. How a team plays a Non Conference team and a Conference team is entirely different. Proof of that is ND and Michigan..I know they aren't in the same conference, but they have the rivalry factor. ND played two entirely different games one week to the next, they looked like a different team today aginst Mich.

There Is no way you are comparing Utahs schedule to Notre Dames... Are you crazy? ND plays , argueably, one of the toughest schedules in the country.. ND with one loss would be ahead of Utah with no losses at the end of the year if it happened that way..Oh by the way SOS is still figured in and if you guys don't know how it is I will let you know..later..if you can't figure it out..

I will agree with you 100% ND plays the schedule from heck...but the SOS formula was loaded. Who ranks the teams you play, a buch of guys who already have in their mind who they think are the best teams in the country, winning or losing isn't going to change that.

Plus without the SOS many more mid major teams will get a shot at the big dawgs when they are scheduled as cupcakes....i.e. Troy.

SOS is still used as a part of the different polls for BCS but is no longer a separate component as it has been in previous years.

The AP and coaches polls Still have SOS in them and they are the biggest parts of the ENIGMA called the BCS

AP and Coaches only have perceived SOS, not a real stat. Computers will always be more accurate and less biased than the human polls. Unless programmed to be otherwise.
The Fresno State history comment was from a couple years ago when they were "supposed" to get a BCS bid but lost to someone their last regular season game, ruining their cinderella story. Might have been to Hawaii or Boise.

Why shouldnt there be a coaches poll? Because they dont worship the ground the ND team walks on like a lot of the AP members do?

I think a mid-major will break in this year at long last. Dunno who it'll be, though. Might be Utah, might be Fresno State, might be Boise State, might be Memphis, might be TCU, might be Southern Miss, might be someone we haven't really thought about yet (although I doubt it). Personally, my money's on it being Utah, TCU or Boise.
