Wow. Louisiana Tech, of all schools, knocked off Fresno State. That leaves only four mid-major contenders to break in to the BCS.
I say Utah now. I said Boise before, but after their past two games (well, the two BEFORE tonight's game against SMU), I officially have my doubts.
Utah, on the other hand, continued to impress against New Mexico, who I figured had the best shot in the conference of dethroning Utah. The Utes still have to face North Carolina next week, though, but they're not so hot right now.
Southern Miss and Louisville....I dunno, I just don't see it happening from C-USA this year. They still both have to face Memphis and Houston, and Southern Miss has to face UAB, and Louisville has Miami. And they both have to face us. I'm not saying TCU's really a factor right now, but given how unpredictable and inconsistent we are, I'm not about to count us out, either (after all, we want revenge against USM and Louisville has not beaten us in at least three or four years, if ever). I just think Southern Miss and Louisville are both going to lose to someone in C-USA this season (in addition to Louisville's imminent loss to the 'Canes).

I was not schocked about La Tech beating Fresno St, Besides Boise St they were the only ones who could do it. After Fresno struggled against Portland St I had serious doubts they would go undefeated. Boise St had some close calls against UTEP and BYU but BYU is a actually a good team despite their record (2-3 after beating Col St tonight) And UTEP just won 45-0 tonight so maybe UTEP is a pretty decent team?! Utah looks unstopable. BYU looks to be the only team that has a chance against them. I think both Utah and Boise St will both go undefeated.

Im going with Utah, If UNM cant beat them no one in the conference can. Boise St probably will do it but I think Utah has a much better shot now.

Utah is getting a lot of media hype, but I think Louisville is the best team out of the four. They may have a tougher schedule, but no one in C-USA has the kind of athletes they have. I think they have the best chance to win a BCS game as well.

Y'all are kidding, right? It's going to take a totally undefeated season for any mid-major to get into the BCS. Forget about in-conference schedules for a second, as all four stand the potential to run their conference table (especially since Southern Miss and Louisville do not play one another this year). Louisville stands the least chance of surviving the season unbeaten: They play Miami (Florida, not Ohio) a week from Thursday. If they can pull a Northwestern and upset Miami, yes, they absolutely deserve to be in the BCS. But how likely is that, really? Even a loss to a team as strong as the Hurricanes is still a loss, and I think the BCS is very likely to simply count it against them. Think about it: Who do you take to the Fiesta Bowl (or whichever one would be better), one-loss Louisville or unbeaten Utah?
I don't like Louisville. It's a bit of an in-conference rivalry for us. But I would love for them to beat Miami and end up in the BCS for a variety of reasons. I just don't see any way it'll happen, short of a Northwestern-sized miracle.

Boise St is going to do it and probably Utah. If Louisville did not have Miami on the schedule they would probably do it also. S Miss is alright but they arnt that great.

Well I think S Miss is overrated and wont do it. Louisville, can do it if it can pull the upset over Miami, which I think is possible but unlikely. Boise St has to get by Fresno which is 50-50. Utah has the best chance, BYU is the only one left that can take them. Those are going to be the 3 biggest games of the year for the Mid Majors.

Navy might be another BCS buster No, the only team they play the rest of the season that is good at all is Notre Dame and they wont move up much for beating everyone else left on their schedule.

The AP would love to vote for an undefeated Navy program. If they were to beat ND, they would instantly rocket into people's attention. With the war going on, there would be lots of feel good stories about young kids wanting to save America from the terrorists and maybe play a little football while doing it. Not that any of this would be unwarranted (I would like to see Navy go to a BCS bowl), but the fickle AP would just suck it up for ratings.
Ergo, LETS GO NAVY!!!
