So, what's the best conference this year? You could say the SEC with NC hopefuls LSU and UGA along with good teams like Floridia and Tennessee. Or the ACC with the additions of Miami and VT to join FSU. The Big 12 is up there too with Texas and Oklahoma. Who's the best?

I'm a little bias but I'll say the Big Ten from top to bottom is the best.

That looks about right even though i wish i could say the big 12 could be higher but the way they finished last year that is where they should start.

Recall that the ACC had the best bowl record last season, and with the new teams, will get better. PJ, the Big 10.5? It feels kinda weird telling a moderator that they're not correct. They just don't have the depth of the ACC, Big 12, and SEC. I've got them above the Pac 10 and Big East though. Ergo, ACC-Clemson SEC-UF Big 12-KSU Big 11-Iowa Pac 10-Cal Big East-WVU

KSU is breaking in a new QB and last time they didnt go good with that. UF struggled a lot last year and will be better but wont be able to take over LSU. Cal is getting better but USC returns a lot of talent even without Mike Williams and will win the Pac 10 again. Iowa will be third or fourth in conference behind Michigan and OSU and maybe someone else . I do agree with you that WV will win the Big Least

I think ACC is the best conference, lot of depth and have some teams who can compete for the national title.

Yeah, Clemson is my emotional ACC winner. The rational one is the FSU/Miami winner. UF beat LSU last year, and UGa. I feel that they will probably lose at TN, but beat Auburn this year. Therefore they are my SEC winners. USC winning the Pac 10 is kinda like Russia winning the Olympic hockey gold in the 60s, or the Dream team winning basketball before last year. Not much competition. I think they will stumble though, and let one of the WSU/Oregon axis in. Michigan-well, I just don't like them. Couldn't bear to write them in. I really don't know enough about the Big 12 anymore, but Oklahoma will probably win it win at least one loss.

What does Clemson have besides Whitehurst?? With no offensive line, he is gonna get mauled. I just don't see Clemson doing extremely well this year.

Well, they've got a pretty good defense, led by Leroy Hill. The line isn't completely new, there is at least one senior on it. Wideouts are pretty talented, even without DH and Airese Curry. We need a good back, but the new kids look pretty good. Oh, and yes, we have Whitehurst, and nobody off our Oline was spectacular last year.

Clemson did lose alot, but don't count them out.
Every single team in the ACC lost alot except Georgia Tech (I don't know if UNC and Duke did, but i really don't care)
Clemson is scaring me to death, and i know I'll even be more scared when i head down to Death Valley to watch them play my Terps.
But they are a solid team, as are the other ACC squads you guys are counting out. I.e. Georgia Tech, Maryland, NCState
That's why its the best conference. Just to show this I will put the 3 best conferences next to each other according to their Coaches poll rankings
ACC SEC Big 12 Miami LSU Oklahoma FSU Georgia Texas Clemson Florida Kansas State Virginia Tennessee Missouri Maryland Auburn Nebraska NCState Alabama Oklahoma State Virginia Tech Arkansas Texas Tech Georgia Tech Ole Miss Texas A&M Wake Forest South Carolina Colorado UNC Miss State Kansas Duke Kentucky Iowa State Vanderbilt Baylor
Compare the teams across
Row 1: Toss up, i give it to Oklahoma Row 2: Toss up, i give it to Georgia Row 3: Toss up, i say Clemson Row 4: Virginia Row 5: Maryland Row 6: NCState Row 7: Georgia Tech Row 8: Virginia Tech Row 9: South Carolina Row 10: Toss up, I'd say Miss State Row 11: Toss up, I'd say Iowa State Row 12: Vandy
Tally it up, remember i penalized the ACC for only having 11 teams.
ACC: 6 SEC: 4 Big 12: 2
Thats why I give it to the ACC, but of course, we'll have to see how the season goes.

Ok. Kansas over Vandy? Get real. That gives the SEC one less. I would also give it to OState over Ole Miss given certain fields, etc. GT could win one of 5 in that matchup too. Ergo, SEC and ACC are pretty even. Last year, ACC won against UT (CU), Carolina (CU), UF (FSU), Auburn(GT), Vandy (GT) for 5 wins. They lost against UT (Duke), UGa (CU), Carolina (UVa) for 4 losses. With Miami added they have one more good team. With V Tech added they have a decent team for the first 3 months, and if they interconference games aren't in November they might win some too. Next year I give it to the ACC.
