Ah, Lobo, your immaturity is good for a laugh! Here's hoping you win the Mountain West so we can prove you wrong about your school as well!

What a depressing game for us Horned Frog fans.
The first half was a decent game. It was a defensive slugfest for about 10 minutes or so of play, and then TCU came alive. By about 6 or 7 minutes into the second quarter, we'd put up 21 unanswered points. Then Tech came alive and tied it up by halftime. As the second quarter ended, I thought maybe I might have a seat at a great football game.
Boy, was I wrong. The third quarter began, and soon Tech had scored another 7 points...then another...then another. TCU forgot to come out and play another half. We just laid up and died, letting the Red Raiders trample all over us. I think Tech had gotten up to 56 before we scored again. Near the end of the third quarter (or was it the beginning of the fourth?), we got two touchdowns (complete with extra points) in fairly rapid succession, getting TCU fans' hopes up. Then Tech turned around and scored twice more (the first one was on a turnover play) to finish us off.
Were it not for my getting to visit with a close cousin who's a freshman at Tech, getting pretty wasted off of Seagram's 7 the night before the game in the hotel, and actually having fun playing as part of the quarter of TCU's band that actually went to the game, I'd have regretted coming all the way to godforsaken Lubbock.
A few cheers and jeers:
Cheers to Texas Tech for pulling their heads out of their asses near the end of the second quarter and redeeming themselves after a loss to piddly little New Mexico.
Jeers to Texas Tech fans started yelling "f**k you, TCU!" at the band more than half an hour before the game started. Yelling "Boo!" or making fun of us is one thing, but simply yelling profanity for no reason is just plain classless.
Cheers to...actually, I have no more cheers, just jeers.
Jeers to TCU, for forgetting to play for a whole game.
Jeers to the officials, for making piss-poor calls - affecting both sides of the ball - the whole game, starting with TCU's first touchdown, which should have been a touchback for Tech.
I think I'm done.

the thing is that no one really cares about those conferences Your bashing the mid-majors is starting to become tiring, soonerfan.

put SEC number 1, they are definately the best IMO Agreed. SEC is the top conference. Other than that, you've probably nailed it. Well, I still think that the MWC is a bit better than C-USA top to bottom, but that's debatable.

And MAYBE even the WAC. No, actually, the Big East has enough strong middle-of-the-pack teams, whereas the WAC has two at the top and everyone else at the bottom, so I guess the Big East is better than the WAC. But not by much.

I'd say they're about No. 2, behind West Virginia. But then, I've not watched much of the Big Least, and I'm biased in favor of Pitt.

Oh, I think the conference will get a little better with the addition of Cincy, South Florida and, most importantly, Louisville. Just not a lot better.

Big East this year is definitely weaker than C-USA and Mountain West, maybe even weaker than the WAC.
Starting with the 2005 season, I think the Big East will be right even with the Mountain West. If one doesn't get an automatic bid, the other shouldn't either.

I apologize for offending you. I have nothing but respect for your team. Your school is fine (although some of the student fans I had contact with were genuine jerk-offs). However, I have disliked Lubbock for years and I still do. I did not insult your town because I was pissed off at losing (not to say that I'm not pissed off), I insulted your town because I genuinely dislike it, along with the rest of West Texas.
But honestly, I do apologize if I offended you.
Edit: Oh, and I reread my post in the Red Raiders thread. I took out that part about Tech being a bad school. That was a bit of sour grapes there, and I didn't really mean that.
Edit 2: I also took something offensive to someone else out of this post. Trying to put on a new, better face here before everyone hates me.

Yup. They're the newest member of C-USA Lite.

Actually, after this year, UTEP will be competing for a C-USA championship, since they're being brought in to replace us.

Wow. This game really surprised me. I'd have never predicted that Auburn would pull this win outta nowhere. They've now been added to my ever-growing list of SEC teams to watch.

I was disappointed a little by this game, as I am a casual Pitt fan. Oh well.

TCU will be a big plus for the MWC. I hope the Frogs can fix some of their current problems, and get back to where they should be......at the top of CUSA. TCU should do very well in the MWC. CUSA is losing far too much, and will be no more than mediocre after all is said and done. Thanks. Yeah, we Frog fans are hoping this is another 2002. In 2002 (my freshman year here), we lost our opening game to Cincy, then turned things around and went on an 8-game winning streak. Then we went and lost to friggin' East Carolina (a game we should NOT have lost, much like South Florida last weekend), and then turned around and beat Memphis to earn the invite to the Liberty Bowl and then beat Colorado State in the bowl game. We're hoping this season ends up like that: We stumbled a bit, but if we can fix our problems and run the table the rest of the time, we end up tying with one or two teams for C-USA championship, and we might end up going to Memphis again (we brought a lot of money into that city two years ago, so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they'd want us back over Southern Miss or Memphis...Louisville I'm not so sure). As for C-USA itself...I hope Southern Miss, Memphis and even Houston find a way out of that conference in the next few years.
