West Virginia would probably replace Texas Agreed. I think Texas will lose at least one more game, if not two, this year. OSU and A&M (despite that fluke of a loss to Baylor) could still give the Longhorns trouble.

Not bad predictions, but you forgot to put the Big Least winner up there. Not that WVU (or Pitt if they pull the upset, or whomever else could possibly do it) would deserve it, but they do get an automatic bid.

Damn, you beat me by a few seconds. Here's what I wrote in the thread I started that I've now deleted:
North Carolina 31, Miami 28
UNC scored a 40-something-yard field goal with four seconds left in the game to win it. I hear this is UNC's first-ever win against a Top 5 team.
Six undefeateds left, and Miami's hopes for a chance at the NC title are shot. Biggest upset we've seen thus far this season?

Tough call. I'm going to go with Nebraska, though. Just a gut feeling, really. I haven't been paying enough attention to the Big 12 North to know what's going on up there. Good luck.

Oklahoma loses to this weekend or to A&M or in the Big 12 title game. I wasn't aware that a weekend could beat a football team.

Not so fast my friend. Wisconsin's going to be in that game. No, they're not. Not unless three of the following four loses a game: USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Auburn. USC has been ranked No. 1 all season, and they will until and unless they lose. Similarly, OU has been ranked No. 2, and besides that they're undefeated in a slightly tougher conference than Wisconsin. Similar things can be said about Miami and Auburn. I like Wisconsin, and I think they're a great team, but those other four happen to be the top teams this year (OK, so I do think UW is better than USC, but even that doesn't put the Badgers in the Orange Bowl. Sorry.

That seems about right for how things will go down.
Of course, what I'm hoping is that there are seven undefeateds at the end of the regular season (Oklahoma, Miami, USC, Auburn, Wisconsin, Utah and Boise), and that the BCS manages to shut Utah out of a bowl. I would love nothing more than to see the BCS crumble. Five contenders for the national title plus two mid-major undefeateds not being in big bowls equals still more trouble for the elitists.

A&M in the Fort Worth Bowl? Yuck.... Only because I'd like to see the matchup and there's no other way it's going to happen anytime in the near future. Coach Fran wouldn't schedule TCU in the regular season until he's damn sure his team could beat ours. While I think A&M could handle us easily this year, the Aggies aren't as consistent as Coach Fran would like them to be before he takes on one of the top mid-major programs, particularly one he used to coach at.

I know it's still a bit early in the season to be projecting bowl match-ups, but I don't care. I have a few thoughts on what I'd like to see happen in a few bowls I care about, and I feel like sharing them. I'll be going over the BCS bowls (because any bowl discussion MUST mention them), all the Conference USA bowls (because that's TCU's conference, naturally) and the Cotton Bowl, because it's close to home for me and features a match-up between upper teams from my two favorite conferences, SEC and Big 12. And I'll throw in the Sun Bowl, because that was my favorite bowl game last year (Minnesota over Oregon by one point!). I don't know enough about the other bowls to make projections, but that doesn't mean I won't watch them, of course! I've got two lists, my preferred match-ups and the match-ups I think are more likely to actually happen.
Anyway, everyone, feel free to make your predictions. Make sure you include the BCS bowls in your predictions, beyond that feel free to do whatever pleases you!
Here's how I'd like to see the bowls: Fort Worth: TCU vs. Texas A&M (even if they smoke us, which I bet they would) New Orleans: UNT vs. UAB Hawaii: Memphis vs. Boise GMAC (Mobile, Ala.): Southern Miss vs. Northern Illinois Liberty (Memphis, Tenn.): Louisville vs. BYU Sun (El Paso, Texas): Minnesota vs. California Cotton: Texas Tech vs. Tennessee Rose: USC vs. Wisconsin Fiesta: Utah vs. West Virginia Sugar: Auburn vs. Florida State Orange: Miami vs. Oklahoma
Here's how I think it might more realistically work out: Fort Worth: TCU vs. Generic Big 12 North Team No. 3 New Orleans: UNT vs. UAB Hawaii: Memphis vs. Boise GMAC (Mobile, Ala.): Southern Miss vs. Northern Illinois or Marshall Liberty (Memphis, Tenn.): Louisville vs. Utah Sun: Minnesota vs. Arizona State Cotton: Texas A&M vs. Tennessee Rose: Wisconsin vs. California Fiesta: Florida State vs. West Virginia Sugar: Auburn vs. Miami Orange: Oklahoma vs. USC

Some lucky BCS team will be having a fun New Year.... ;D Unless it's West Virginia. I think Utah might actually be able to take WVU, not that that's saying a whole hell of a lot.

I'm going to say yes, they deserve their shot. I think anyone who goes undefeated and is ranked high enough deserves a shot. Of course, I may have to take that back if Boise AND Utah finish the regular season undefeated and in the Top 12 BCS....

OU-A&M should be a pretty damn good game. I'm looking forward to it.

Too bad it's one of the most annoying things you could do (other than making the claim that Utah is the best team in the nation )
